China's Science and Technology Minister Wan Gang met in this capital with a Cuban delegation led by Council of State's Scientific Advisor Fidel Castro Díaz-Balart, visiting this country.
Close sources told Prensa Latina that the parties confirmed the will of deepening and diversifying bilateral scientific- technical relations in common priority areas, particularly in nano-sciences and nanotechnology.They are also working tirelessly for the next celebration in Havana of the Eighth Meeting of the Joint Committee for the Scientific-Technical Collaboration, in which both nations will review what was agreed in this sector, and evaluate new actions to expand links.
After welcoming the visiting delegation, Wan, also vice chairman of the Eleventh National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, expressed admiration for the Cuban Revolution, and highlighted the importance of the celebration in 2010 of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries.
The Council of State's scientific advisor conveyed a congratulatory message from the Cuban government on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the proclamation of the Revolution and independence of the People's Republic of China.
The agenda of the Cuban delegation will also include meetings with representatives from institutions like the Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Engineering, The national Foundation of Natural Sciences, and the Association for Sciences and Technology of China.
Also on the list is visiting provinces of Heilongjiang and Zhejiang, where the group will tour sites for researches and universities linked to science and technology.
