"Cuestion de Principios," an Argentinian film by Rodrigo Grande, with main roles by Federico Luppi and Norma Aleandro, will open the first LATINUY 2009 film festival on November 4 in Uruguay, devoted to Latin films.
Fernando Goldsman, president of the organizing committee, told Prensa Latina that the event will last until November 8 at Conrad Resort Casino Hotel, at the Uruguayan Punta del Este beach resort.Goldsman explained that in five days, they will exhibit fiction films, documentaries and a series of short films from seven countries.
Other proposals are the Argentinian film "El Vestido," a co-production with Spain, "El ultimo Verano," "El Nino Pez," "Tres Deseos" and two other films on great musicians such as Manuel de Falla and Homero Manzi.
Cuba will participate with films as "El Benny," the popular "Retrato de Teresa," and the animated film "Vampiros," as well as the documentaries "Destinos" and "Montana de Luz."
LATINUY 2009 will include several Venezuelan films such as "Cyrano Fernandez," "Macuro," "Miranda Regresa," "La Clase" and award winner "Postales de Leningrado."
Colombia will present La sombra del caminante, while Ecuador will exhibit shorts films, as "Descarges," "Este Maldito Pais," "El Lugar Donde Se Juntan los Polos" "AVC, Del Sueño al Caos," "Velasco Ibarra, Retrato de un Monarca Andino" and "25 Años de Democracia.
The short film "Frankfurt" will be an example of the new Paraguayan cinema and the host country will present through the documentary, Perejiles.
